Latest Projects

Fire main diversion –  Howard Florey Laboratories

The University of Melbourne (UoM)

We were called into the metro tunnel site to investigate, identify and relocate services found while excavating for the tunnel works. We located 2 services using our CCTV camera; one a stormwater drain and the other a fire service.

After stakeholder consultation, our team developed in-depth methodology for the works to ensure a smooth and efficient project outcome. Excavation works commenced and both the stormwater and fire services were diverted making way for the metro tunnel works to progress safely.

Reliable Updates

Melbourne Polytechnic

We are delighted to announce that we have recently been awarded a position on the preferred contractor panel for Melbourne Polytechnic. This extends our already longstanding relationship of 5 years with Melbourne Polytechnic and we look forward to continuing to provide their staff, students and community with our top high-quality service.

Women in plumbing

Master Plumbers Plumbing on Show Expo! Our Director Chris was invited to take a seat on the Women in Plumbing discussion panel at the Master Plumbers Plumbing on Show Expo on 6th August. Chris presented as an employer of female plumbing apprentices and plumbers, and shared Reliable’s great experiences of employing and supporting women within the plumbing industry.

Working Towards Zero Emissions

Reliable has recently welcomed our first zero emission electric utility vehicle into our fleet!
We are excited to get this beast out onsite, in another step towards our organisation’s internal target of net zero by 2025, and in partnership with our clients’ own net zero targets, while continuing to ensuring optimal onsite response is maintained.
Just another way we are plumbing smarter.

National Tradies Health Month

August is marked as Tradies National Health Month and raises awareness of the risks posed to those working in trades and focuses on the importance of tradies health.

This month Reliable wanted to have a little fun, raise awareness, and money, for an important cause, through a company-wide push up challenge. Reliable pledged to donate $10 for every push up completed by the winner in the final.

Our winner Sam took out the bragging rights while raising $570 for HALT (Hope Awareness Local Tradies).

HALT’s vision is that every tradie in Australia knows how to look after their mental health and wellbeing and aims to remind tradies they are valued by their community, and direct them to support services, both local and national, should they need them.

Getting social!

The team went go-karting in July at Auscarts Racing! Our team took to the track to battle it out for the title of Reliable Go-Kart champion!
It was a close race, but Drew’s speed and precision (along with his own performance enhancing driving gloves) saw him take top spot on the podium. He was followed closely by Luke in 2nd and Chris in 3rd.

Spotlight on…

Plumber – Carmen

Carmen has been working with Reliable Plumbing for 6 months, developing her skills and becoming a highly valued team member. We recently caught up for a chat to discuss her experience at Reliable Plumbing and her love for the job!

“What do you enjoy most about working at Reliable?”

This is the first time I’ve done general plumbing maintenance, as I was previously working in hospitality. There is so much variety, and it is different every day, with different problems to solve. I love the problem solving side of things, you never know what you will get!

“What do you like about the company?”

The people. Reliable have done a really good job of employing good people who are not just experienced and knowledgeable but also welcoming and helpful. The transition into my new role with the company has been easy.

“Any words of wisdom for up-and-coming plumbers?”

Put your head down and get involved with as much plumbing when you’re in the apprenticeship so you can work out what you want to specialise in when you’re qualified!

Welcome to our newest team members!
